Hosted by Keith Aitken, Broadcaster and Journalist the programme included Ross Martin, SCDI CEO, Eva Bamberg, Director, Vibrant Places, Sweden, Tine Fuchs of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce, John Lambeth, President and CEO of CIVITAS, USA with local speakers from Dunblane and Aberdeen. Further contributions were made by The Federation of Small Business Scotland, the Scottish Tourism Alliance, Young Enterprise Scotland and East Lothian Food and Drink.
This years event celebrated the 10th year of Business Improvement Districts in Scotland with the focus being on the further development of the BID model in Scotland and how BIDs can help transform local communities and grow the local economy.
Videos of the presentations from the event can be found here on our BIDs Scotland You Tube platform.
Ian Davison Porter Director BIDs Scotland said, 'BIDs in Scotland are developing and growing in number, with new business sectors being involved and new groups and bodies looking to develop a business improvement district. Over 10 years the BIDs model has developed and changed delivering new projects and services, helping local businesses and contributing to inclusive economic growth. We are now looking at how the existing BIDs can deliver more and better projects and services for their businesses whilst being involved locally with the wider community in a strong local partnership that gets things done'.
I would like to thank our main sponsors Business Advisory Support and all those that attended, especially our friends and colleagues from across the world who made the day so enjoyable and informative.
