A new campaign - featuring a range of winter discounts - has been launched in Glasgow which aims to encourage more punters to shop locally.
Business across the west end of Glasgow have teamed up to see off the competition from online shopping sites.
A new winter 'shop local' campaign has been launched, which aims to celebrate the artisan and fly the flag for independent traders.
The project shines the spotlight on what can be found on your doorstep, and champions local business people in a bid to attract more shoppers to "wander west".
And as an added incentive, a book of winter promotions has been produced, to boost the awareness of what's on offer from Glasgow's homegrown retailers.
Crafted by the Byres Road and Lanes Business Improvement District, the organisation behind Visit West End, most of the offers run through until January.
David Howat, Chair of the Byres Road & Lanes BID Company Ltd, said: “Shopping local has a direct impact on the prosperity of our high streets, our shopkeepers and the unique businesses that can be found in the westend.
“All we ask this Christmas, is come out, talk to your traders, get inspired by their businesses and find something unique to give as a present this year.”
Whether it’s enjoying a Fairtrade hot drink from S’mug coffee bar at a bargain £2 whilst you shop, free treats from Shearer Candles if you spend £20, boozy brunches from Bar Soba or simply enjoying finding out more behind the story of the traders behind the stores, you can download a brochure online https://www.visitwestend.com/blog/2017/11/29/winter-promotions or pick up from over 20 stores across the west end.
Star local gifts highlighted include Napiers beard gift box with everything needed to maintain a "splendid beard" as well as a range of cosy tartan scarves from Pink Poodle and a treasure trove of vintage finds from Starry Starry Night.
For those still unsure of what to buy this Christmas, Byres Road also has Glasgow’s first neighbourhood gift card, which is redeemable at more than 60 shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses on Byres Road and the adjacent lanes.
