The Jurassic Bricks trail will feature 15 giant beasts in the town centre
Get ready for some roar-some fun this summer when a trail of Lego dinosaurs stomp into Paisley.
Jurassic Bricks – a free, interactive Lego Brick Dinosaur Trail – will see 15 large dinosaurs made out of Lego bricks placed in businesses across Paisley town centre.
As well as the chance to follow the trail to find all 15 dinosaurs, there will be two interactive Lego play zones – in the Piazza shopping centre and the Paisley Centre – a Find the Hidden Dinosaur competition and a selfie zone where brave youngsters can get a photo taken next to a Lego brick dinosaur’s jaw.
All of the dinosaurs will be found in local businesses and everyone who completes the trail will have a chance to win
The six-week long trail is the brainchild of Paisley First, the non-profit organisation set up to deliver the town centre’s
Business Improvement District (BID).
Chairman Graeme McGowan said: “This will be a great event to showcase everything Paisley has to offer this summer.
“We are sure families will come from far and wide to enjoy this great, free day out during the school holidays.
“And after hitting the shops and enjoying our Jurassic entertainment, visitors can take advantage of our many cafes, restaurants and bars.
“There is so much to see and do in the town already and this will help cement the town’s reputation as a visitor destination.”
Lego building company Bright Bricks will be installing the 15 dinosaurs. It’s the first time the company has created a dinosaur trail in the UK.
Of the 15 dinosaurs, eight will stand a massive three metres tall, five will measure one metre high while there will be another two medium-sized ones.
The trail will run throughout the school summer holidays, starting on Saturday, June 30, and finishing on Sunday, August 12. Anyone wanting to take part in the trail will be able to collect a trail booklet in the Piazza shopping centre, the Paisley Centre and some shops throughout the town centre nearer the time.
Paisley First will also be running its Golden Ticket competition again with a draw each week during the Jurassic Bricks trail. The winner will receive £250 of Paisley town centre gift vouchers.
